As a qualified first aid trainer, and a training paramedic with London Ambulance Service, Shaun brings firsthand experience from the frontline into our First Aid, Mental Health and Healthcare courses. All training is designed to be practical, engaging, and aligned with real-world best practices.
First Aid at Work (3 Day) Course
This course is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively to a range of first aid emergencies in the workplace. It meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and is suitable for low-risk work environments or as additional support in higher-risk settings.
Course Duration: 3 Days (Typically 6–7 hours per day, including breaks)

Designated workplace first aiders in low, medium, or high-risk environments
Employees who require a thorough understanding of first aid
Anyone seeking hands-on training in life-saving techniques
Course Content:
This course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in handling emergencies, including:
✔ Roles & Responsibilities of a First Aider – Legal requirements, incident reporting, and maintaining first aid standards.
✔ Assessing an Incident – Conducting a scene survey, primary survey, and calling for emergency assistance.
✔ Unresponsive Casualties – Assessing and managing an unconscious casualty, including the recovery position.
✔ CPR & AED Use – Step-by-step guidance on performing CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
✔ Choking – How to recognize and assist choking casualties (both partial and complete airway obstruction).
✔ Bleeding & Wound Management – Identifying different types of bleeding and applying appropriate first aid measures.
✔ Shock – Recognizing the signs and providing first aid for shock.
✔ Fractures, Sprains & Strains – Understanding how to manage musculoskeletal injuries safely.
✔ Head, Neck & Spinal Injuries – Recognizing serious injuries and applying first aid techniques to minimize risk.
✔ Burns & Scalds – Correct treatment methods for minor and severe burns.
✔ Medical Emergencies – Managing conditions such as seizures, asthma attacks, allergic reactions, strokes, and heart attacks.
Assessment & Certification:
Continuous practical assessment by the instructor
Successful candidates receive a Level 3 First Aid at Work Certificate, valid for three years
Certificates meet Health & Safety Executive (HSE) requirements
Additional Information:
✔ No prior first aid experience required
✔ Course materials and a first aid handbook provided
✔ Hands-on training with mannequins, bandages, and first aid equipment
By the end of the course, participants will have the confidence and ability to respond effectively to first aid situations, helping to create a safer workplace.
